Narrator: CPRI is committed to the next generation of clinicians.

Since 2011, CPRI has supported over 600 medical placements, and in 2020 CPRI partnered with Western University’s Department of Psychiatry Developmental Disabilities Program to create a Developmental Psychiatry Fellowship. The first of its kind in Canada.

Our partnerships include 65 universities and colleges worldwide. We provide highly specialized clinical learning for nearly 200 students annually. CPRI staff have delivered over 5,000 clinical presentations to more than 75,000 participants from 2011-2023.

CPRI hosts clinical education events featuring local, national, and international experts to over 6,000 participants annually. As a Centre of Excellence, we are committed to providing innovative strategies to deliver the best possible care and support to those who need it most.

At CPRI, we have developed a model of programs and services that integrates the medical and community-based service systems. Our staff receive highly specialized clinical training and continuous professional development opportunities that drive our program's success and fosters a culture of innovation.

CPRI is recognized for its success and clinical expertise related to assessing and treating severe self-injurious behaviours, complex medication management, and supporting client transfers from hospitals.

This helps to manage health care system costs and improve access to services.

This success is thanks to having a Child and Family Centered Care approach and including the child, youth and family voices in care planning.

CPRI is proudly the first Canadian organization to become certified in the Sanctuary Model, which is an evidence based, organizational and trauma-informed care model that guides how we interact with clients, and each other.

We strive to build a culture of safety for clients, their communities, and our staff.

We are accredited every four years by an independent third-party review through Accreditation Canada. This helps us verify, maintain and improve the quality of care we deliver to the children, youth and families we serve across Ontario.

CPRI continues to be an invaluable resource to the Ontario Public Service, specifically through our commitment to trauma-informed practices that are widely applicable outside of the clinical environment. We have designed and delivered multiple training modules and workshop events entitled “Building a Culture of Safety,” which, as well as our expertise, are in high demand.

Today, CPRI is considered a Children’s Developmental and Mental Health Centre of Operational Excellence, where staff work together daily to improve the quality of life for Ontario’s children and youth with complex needs, their families and communities.

CPRI strives to support better outcomes for Ontarians.

Our services help thousands of children and youth live better lives. An employee writes words on a cake with icing. We will miss you.
